This impact-absorbing surface is commonly referred to as ‘soft fall’ (also referred to as, softfall, soft floor, safety flooring, or rubber flooring).

What is Soft Fall Surfacing and Where is it most Commonly Used?

Soft fall surfacing provides an impact-absorbing layer beneath the finished surface of indoor and outdoor areas, and acts as an alternative to traditional sand, bark, or grass surfaces.

Soft fall is commonly used today within surfacing for children’s playgrounds, daycare centre yards, public exercise equipment, gyms, and around pools. It is also ideal for use within equine flooring and impact sound insulation flooring, as well as within commercial and industrial flooring where safety compliance is required.

One of its greatest advantages over traditional materials such as bark and sand, is its versatility and flexibility. It can be used around the base of play equipment, over shapes and platforms, around water jets, pools, or fountains of splash parks, on rooftops or terrace playgrounds within buildings, and so on.
